Dame Patience Jonathan arrives from medical trip

Nigeria’s First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan on Wednesday arrived Nigeria after about 8 weeks of absence. The First Lady arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja aboard an aircraft with registration number 5N-FGN. She was received by a number of government functionaries and a crowd of PDP supporters at the airport.

UNIPORT killings: Police dismisses Sergeant

The Nigerian Police Force has dismissed a Sergeant identified as Lucky Orji, who was allegedly involved in the gruesome murder of four students of the University of Port-Harcourt, following the confessions of one of the arrested suspects who claimed that a police man was part of the mob.

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, also known as Dodo Mayana, is bereaved due to the death of his mother, Christiana Rufai.
Sources close to the legendary goalkeeper said Peter Rufai was at his football academy training kids, on Wednesday morning, when he got the news via a phone call from his elder sister.
Peter Rufai was Nigeria’s number one shot stopper for several years including at the USA 94 World Cup, still considered Nigeria’s best outing at the FIFA tournament.

Michael Ballack Announces Retirement

Michael Ballack, who won 98 caps for Germany and scored 42 international goals, has retired from football, a statement released through his lawyer said.
Ballack, 36, began his professional career at Chemnitzer in 1995 and went on to play for Kaiserslautern, Bayer Leverkusen (twice), Bayern Munich and Chelsea. He had been without a club since leaving Leverkusen at the end of last season, despite being linked with a move to the Australian A-League.
His outstanding career saw him win the German Footballer of the Year accolade three times and play for his country, which he also captained, in five international tournaments.

Boko Haram Killed 20 Students In Federal Poly, Mubi Adamawa

At least 20 students have been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Mubi, north-eastern Nigeria, a police source has told the BBC.
The attack happened at a student hostel away from the Federal Polytechnic Mubi campus, the source said.
